1a1James, a 2bond-servant of God and 3of the LordJesusChrist, To 4the twelvetribeswho are b5dispersed abroad: 6Greetings.
27Consider it alljoy, my brethren, when you encounter8variousctrials,
3knowing that 9the testing of your 10faithproducesd11endurance.
4
And let e12endurancehave its perfectfresult, so that you may be g13perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5
But ifany of you 14lackswisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to allgenerously and hwithoutreproach, and 15it will be given to him.
6
But he must 16ask in faith17withoutanydoubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, 18driven and tossed by the wind.
7
For that man ought not to expect that he will receiveanything from the Lord,
8
being a i19double-mindedman, 20unstable in all his ways.
921But the jbrother of humble circumstances is to glory in his highposition ;
10
and the richman is to glory in his humiliation, because22likekfloweringgrass he will passaway.
11
For the sunrises with l23a scorchingwind and 24withers the grass ; and its flowerfallsoff and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed ; sotoo the richman in the midst of his pursuits will fadeaway.
1225Blessed is a manwhoperseveres under trial ; for once he has mbeenapproved, he will receive26the crown of lifewhich the Lord 27has promised to those who 28love Him.
13
Let noonesay when he is tempted, "29I am being temptednby God "; for Godcannot be temptedoby evil, and He Himself does not temptanyone.
14
But eachone is tempted when he is carriedaway and enticed by his ownlust.
15Then30when lust has conceived, it givesbirth to sin ; and when 31sinpis accomplished, it bringsforthdeath.
