11My brethren, 2do not hold your faith in our 3gloriousLordJesusChrist with an attitude of 4personalfavoritism.
For if a mancomes into your aassembly with a goldring and dressed in b5fineclothes, and there alsocomes in a poorman in 6dirtyclothes,
and you cpayspecialattention to the one who is wearing the 7fineclothes, and say, "You sithere in a good place," and you say to the poorman, "You standoverthere, orsitdown by my footstool,"
have you not madedistinctionsamongyourselves, and becomejudges8with evildmotives?
5Listen, 9my belovedbrethren: did not 10Godchoose the pooreof thisworld to be 11rich in faith and 12heirs of the kingdomwhich He 13promised to those who love Him?
But you have dishonored the poorman. Is it not the rich who oppress you and fpersonally14drag you into gcourt?
715Do they not blaspheme the fairnamehby which you have been called?
8If, however, you 16are fulfilling the iroyallawaccording to the Scripture, "17YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doingwell.
But if you 18showpartiality, you are committingsin and are convicted by the jlaw as transgressors.
For whoeverkeeps the wholeklaw and yet19stumbles in one point, he has become20guilty of all.
For He who said, "21DO NOT COMMITADULTERY," alsosaid, "22DO NOT COMMITMURDER." Nowif you do not commitadultery, but do commitmurder, you have become a transgressor of the llaw.
12Sospeak and soact as those who are to be judged by 23the law of liberty.
For 24judgment will be merciless to one who has shownnomercy; mercymtriumphsoverjudgment.
