154If a brotherorsister is withoutclothing and in need of dailyfood,
and one of you says to them, "5Go in peace, cbe warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, whatuse is that?
17Evenso6faith, if it hasnoworks, is ddead, being by itself.
187But someoneemay well say, "You havefaith and I haveworks; show me your 8faithwithout the works, and I will 9show you my faith10by my works."
You believe that f11God is one. 12You dowell; 13the demonsalsobelieve, and shudder.
But are you willing to recognize, 14you foolishfellow, that 15faithwithoutworks is useless?
2116Was not Abraham our fatherjustified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
You see that 17faith was working with his works, and gas a result of the 18works, faith was hperfected;
and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "19AND ABRAHAMBELIEVEDGOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called20the friend of God.
