James 2:5-15 (New American Standard)

5 Listen, 1my beloved brethren : did not 2God choose the poor aof this world to be 3rich in faith and 4heirs of the kingdom which He 5promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and bpersonally 6drag you into ccourt ? 7 7Do they not blaspheme the fair name dby which you have been called ? 8 If, however, you 8are fulfilling the eroyal law according to the Scripture, "9YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well. 9 But if you 10show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the flaw as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole glaw and yet 11stumbles in one point, he has become 12guilty of all. 11 For He who said, "13DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "14DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the hlaw. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by 15the law of liberty. 13 For 16judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy ; mercy itriumphs over judgment.
