101Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
112Do not speakagainstoneanother, 3brethren. He who speaksagainst a brotheror4judges his brother, speaksagainst5the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not 6a doer of the law but a judge of it.
There is only one7Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is 8able to save and to destroy; but 9who are you who judge your neighbor?
1310Comenow, you who say, "11Todayortomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a yearthere and engage in business and make a profit."
14aYet you do not knowbwhat your life will be like tomorrow. 12You are just a vapor that appears for a littlewhile and thenvanishesaway.
15cInstead, you ought to say, "13If the Lordwills, we will live and alsodothisor that."
But as it is, you boast in your darrogance; 14allsuchboasting is evil.
17Therefore, 15to one who knows the erightthing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
