Then 1I said, "Alas, LordaGOD ! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because2I am a youth."

But the LORDsaid to me, "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' 3Becauseeverywhere I send you, you shall go, And 4all that I command you, you shall speak.

"5Do not be afraid of them, For 6I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD.

Then the LORDstretched out His hand and 7touched my mouth, and the LORDsaid to me, "Behold, I have 8put My words in your mouth.
10"See, 9I have appointed you thisdayover the nations and over the kingdoms, 10To pluck up and to breakdown, To destroy and to overthrow, 11To build and to plant."

The word of the LORDcame to me saying, "What do you see, 12Jeremiah ?" And I said, "I see a rod of an balmondtree."

Then the LORDsaid to me, "You have seenwell, for 13I am cwatchingover My word to perform it."

The word of the LORDcame to me a secondtimesaying, "14What do you see ?" And I said, "I see a boiling15pot, facing away from the north."

Then the LORDsaid to me, "16Out of the north the evildwill breakforth on all the inhabitants of the land.

"For, behold, I am calling17all the families of the kingdoms of the north," declares the LORD ; "and they will come and they will 18seteachone his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and againstall its wallsroundabout and againstall the 19cities of Judah.

"I will epronounce My judgments on them concerningall their wickedness, whereby they have 20forsaken Me and have f21offeredsacrifices to othergods, and worshiped the 22works of their own hands.
