31His possessions also were 7,000sheep, 3,000camels, 500yoke of oxen, 500femaledonkeys, and verymanyservants; and that man was 2the greatest of all the amen of the east.
His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of eachone on his day, and they would send and invite their threesisters to eat and drink with them.
5When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering3burntofferings according to the number of them all; for Jobsaid, "4Perhaps my sons have sinned and 5cursedGod in their hearts." ThusJobdidcontinually .
66Now there was a day when the 7sons of Godcame to present themselves before the LORD, and bSatanalsocameamong them.
The LORDsaid to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satananswered the LORD and said, "8From roamingabout on the earth and walkingaround on it."
The LORDsaid to Satan, "Have you cconsidered9My servantJob? For there is noonelike him on the earth, 10a blameless and uprightman, dfearingGod and turningaway from evil."
Then 11Satananswered the eLORD, "Does JobfearGod for nothing?
"12Have You not made a hedgeabout him and his house and all that he has, on everyside? 13You have blessed the work of his hands, and his 14possessions have increased in the land.
"15But putforth Your handnow and 16touchall that he has; he will surelycurse You to Your face."
Then the LORDsaid to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your fpower, only do not putforth your hand on him." So Satandeparted from the presence of the LORD.
