8"1For you alwayshave the poor with you, but you do not alwayshave Me."9
The 2largecrowd of the Jewsthenlearned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus'sakeonly, but that they might alsoseeLazarus, 3whom He raised from the dead.
But the chiefpriestsplanned to putLazarus to deathalso;
11because4on account of him 5many of the Jews were goingaway and were believing in Jesus.
On the nextday6the largecrowd who had come to 7the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13took the branches of the palmtrees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, "8Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the 9King of Israel."
14Jesus, finding a youngdonkey, sat on it; as it is written,
"10FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY'SCOLT."
1611Thesethings His disciples did not understand at the first; but whenJesus12was glorified, then they remembered that thesethings were written of Him, and that they had donethesethings to Him.
17So13the apeople, who were with Him when He calledLazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify about Him.
1814For thisreasonalso the bpeoplewent and met Him, 15because they heard that He had performedthiscsign.
