131The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus2went up to Jerusalem.
143And He found in the templethose who were sellingoxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangersseated at their tables.
And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables;
and to those who were selling4the doves He said, "Takethesethingsaway; stopmaking5My Father'shouse a aplace of business."17
His 6disciplesremembered that it was written, "7ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME."
188The Jewsthensaid to Him, "9Whatsign do You show us bas your authority for doingthesethings?"
19Jesusanswered them, "10Destroythisctemple, and in threedays I will raise it up."2011The Jewsthensaid, "It took 12forty-sixyears to buildthisdtemple, and will You raise it up in threedays?"
But He was speaking of 13the etemple of His body.
22Sowhen He was raised from the dead, His 14disciples15remembered that He saidthis; and they believed16the Scripture and the wordwhichJesus had spoken.
23Nowwhen He was in Jerusalem at 17the Passover, during the feast, manybelieved in His name, 18observing His signswhich He was doing.
But Jesus, on His part, was not entrustingHimself to them, for 19He knewallmen,
and because He did not needanyone to testifyconcerningman, 20for He Himselfknewwhat was in man.
