They brought to the Pharisees the man who was formerlyblind.
141Now it was a Sabbath on the daywhenJesusmade the clay and opened his eyes.
152Then the Phariseesalso were asking him againhow he received his sight. And he said to them, "He appliedclay to my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
16Thereforesome of the Pharisees were saying, "Thisman is not from God, because He 3does not keep the Sabbath." But others were saying, "Howcan a man who is a sinnerperformsucha4signs?" And 5there was a divisionamong them.
17So they said to the blindman6again, "What do you sayabout Him, since He opened your eyes?" And he said, "He is a 7prophet."
188The Jewsthen did not believe it of him, that he had beenblind and had receivedsight, until they called the parents of the veryone who had received his sight,
and questioned them, saying, "Is this your son, who you say was bornblind? Thenhow does he nowsee?"
His parentsanswered them and said, "We know that this is our son, and that he was bornblind;
but how he nowsees, we do not know; orwhoopened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him; he is of age, he will speak for himself."
His parentssaidthisbecause they 9were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews10had alreadyagreed that ifanyoneconfessed Him to be bChrist, 11he was to be put out of the synagogue.
For thisreason his parentssaid, "12He is of age; ask him."
24So a secondtime they called the manwho had beenblind, and said to him, "13Giveglory to God; we know that 14thisman is a sinner."
He thenanswered, "Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; onething I do know, that though I was blind, now I see."
26So they said to him, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?"
He answered them, "15I told you already and you did not 16listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciplestoo, do you?"
They reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but 17we are disciples of Moses.
"We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for thisman, 18we do not knowwhere He is from."
The mananswered and said to them, "Well, here is an amazingthing, that you do not knowwhere He is from, and yet He opened my eyes.
"We know that 19God does not hearsinners; but ifanyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.
"cSince the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyoneopened the eyes of a personbornblind.
"20Ifthisman were not from God, He coulddonothing ."
They answered him, "21You were bornentirely in sins, and are you teaching us?" So they 22put him out.
35Jesusheard that they had 23put him out, and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the 24Son of Man?"36
He answered, "25Who is He, dLord, that I may believe in Him?"
37Jesussaid to him, "You have bothseen Him, and 26He is the one who is talking with you."38
And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he 27worshiped Him.
