The Warnings of History to the Ungodly

1 ^a¹Jude, a ²bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of ^bJames, To ³those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and ⁴kept for Jesus Christ : 2 ⁵May mercy and peace and love ⁶be multiplied to you. 3 ⁷Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our ⁸common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you ⁹contend earnestly for ¹⁰the faith which was once for all ¹¹handed down to ¹²the ^csaints. 4 For certain persons have ¹³crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand ^d¹⁴marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn ¹⁵the grace of our God into ¹⁶licentiousness and ¹⁷deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. 5 Now I desire to ¹⁸remind you, though ¹⁹you know all things once for all, that ^ethe Lord, ²⁰after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, ^fsubsequently destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And ²¹angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has ²²kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just as ²³Sodom and Gomorrah and the ²⁴cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and ²⁵went after ^gstrange flesh, are exhibited as an ^h²⁶example in undergoing the ²⁷punishment of eternal fire. 8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, ²⁸defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile ⁱangelic majesties.
