'You shall not make for yourselves a1idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves 2an image or 3a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a 4figuredstone in your land to bowdownbto it; for I am the LORD your God.
'5You shall keep My sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am the LORD.
'6If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out,
then 7I shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
'8Indeed, your threshing will last for you untilgrapegathering, and grapegathering will lastuntilsowingtime. You will thus eat your cfood to the full and 9livesecurely in your land.
'10I shall also grantpeace in the land, so that 11you may liedown with noone making you tremble. 12I shall also eliminateharmfulbeasts from the land, and 13nosword will passthrough your land.
'But you will chase your enemies and they will fallbefore you by the sword;
814five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chasetenthousand, and your enemies will fallbefore you by the sword.
'So I will turntoward you and 15make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will 16confirm My covenant with you.
'17You will eat the oldsupply and clear out the oldbecause of the new.
'18Moreover, I will make My ddwellingamong you, and My soul will not ereject you.
'19I will also walkamong you and be your God, and you shall be My people.
'20I am the LORD your God, whobrought you out of the land of Egyptso that you would not be their slaves, and 21I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walkerect.
'22But if you do not obey Me and do not carry out allthesecommandments,
15if, instead, you 23reject My statutes, and if your soulabhors My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, and so 24break My covenant,
I, in turn, will dothis to you: I will appointover you a 25suddenterror, consumption and fever that will wasteaway the eyes and cause the 26soul to pineaway; also, 27you will sow your seeduselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.
'I will set My face against you so that you will be struckdownbefore your enemies; and 28those who hate you will rule over you, and 29you will flee when noone is pursuing you.
18'If also afterthesethings you do not obey Me, then I will punish you 30seventimesmore for your sins.
'I will also 31breakdown your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze.
'32Your strength will be spentuselessly, for your land will not yield its produce and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.
21'If then, you f33act with hostilityagainst Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you 34seventimes according to your sins.
'35I will letloose among you the beasts of the field, which will bereave you of your children and destroy your cattle and reduce your number so that 36your roadsliedeserted.
'37And if by thesethings you are not turned to Me, but act with hostilityagainst Me,
then I will 38act with hostilityagainst you; and I, even I, will strike you 39seventimes for your sins.
'I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute40vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send41pestilenceamong you, so that you shall be delivered into enemyhands.
'42When I break your staff of bread, tenwomen will bake your bread in oneoven, and they will bringback your breadgin rationedamounts, so that you will 43eat and not be satisfied.
'Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostilityagainst Me,
then 44I will act with wrathfulhostilityagainst you, and I, even I, will punish you seventimes for your sins.
'Further, 45you will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.
'I then 46will destroy your highplaces, and cutdown your 47incensealtars, and heap your hremains on the iremains of your idols, for My soul shall abhor you.
'I will jlay48waste your cities as well and will make your 49sanctuariesdesolate, and I will not 50smell your soothingaromas.
'I will make51the landdesolate52so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalledover it.
'You, however, I 53will scatter among the nations and will draw out a swordafter you, as your landbecomesdesolate and your citiesbecomewaste.
'54Then the land will kenjoy its sabbathsall the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies'land; then the land will rest and lenjoy its sabbaths.
35'All the days of its desolation it will observe the restwhich it did not observe on your sabbaths, while you were living on it.
'As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring55weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a drivenleaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will fleemas though from the sword, and they will fall.
'56They will therefore stumble over eachother as if running from the sword, although noone is pursuing; and you will have no strength nto stand up before your enemies.
'But 57you will perish among the nations, and your enemies'land will consume you.
'58So those of you who may be left will rotaway because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their forefathers they will rotaway with them.
'59If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulnesswhich they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostilityagainst Me-
I also was acting with hostilityagainst them, to bring them into the land of their enemies -60orif their uncircumcisedheartbecomeshumbled so that 61they thenmakeamends for their iniquity,
then I will remember62My covenant with Jacob, and I will rememberalso63My covenant with Isaac, and 64My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.
'65For the land will be abandoned by them, and will make up for its sabbaths while it is madedesolatewithout them. They, meanwhile, will be makingamends for their iniquity, obecause they rejected My ordinances and their 66soulabhorred My statutes.
'Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so 67abhor them as 68to destroy them, 69breaking My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.
'But I will remember for them the 70covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that 71I might be their God. I am the LORD.' "
