1Then the wholebody of them got up and 1brought Him beforePilate.
22And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We foundthisman3misleading our nation and 4forbidding to paytaxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is aChrist, a King."
3SoPilateasked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews ?" And He answered him and said, "5It is as you say."4ThenPilatesaid to the chiefpriests and the crowds, "6I findnoguilt in thisman."

But they kept on insisting, saying, "He stirs up the people, teachingalloverJudea, 7starting from Galilee even as far as thisplace."
6WhenPilateheard it, he askedwhether the man was a Galilean.

And when he learned that He belonged to Herod'sjurisdiction, he sent Him to 8Herod, who himselfalso was in Jerusalembat that time.

8NowHerod was veryglad when he sawJesus ; for 9he hadwanted to see Him for a longtime, because he had been hearingabout Him and was hoping to seesomecsignperformed by Him.

And he questioned Him dat somelength ; but 10He answered him nothing.

And the chiefpriests and the scribes were standing there, accusing Him vehemently.

And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, 11dressed Him in a gorgeousrobe and sent Him back to Pilate.
12Now12Herod and Pilatebecamefriends with oneanother that veryday ; for before they had beenenemies with eachother.
