27"But I say to you who hear, 1love your enemies, dogood to those who hate you,28blessthose who curse you, 2pray for those who amistreat you.29"3Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the otheralso ; and whoever takesaway your bcoat, do not withhold your cshirt from him either.30"Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takesawaywhat is yours, do not demand it back.31"d4Treatothers the sameway you wantethem to treat you.32"5If you lovethose who love you, whatcredit is that to you? Evensinnerslend to sinners in order to receiveback the same amount.35"But 7love your enemies, and dogood, and lend, fexpectingnothing in return ; and your reward will be great, and you will be 8sons of 9the MostHigh ; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.36"gBe merciful, just as your Father is merciful.37"10Do not judge, and you will not be judged ; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned ; h11pardon, and you will be pardoned.38"Give, and it will be given to you. They will ipour12into your lap a 13goodmeasure-presseddown, shakentogether, and runningover. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."39
And He alsospoke a parable to them: "14A blindmancannotguide a blindman, can he? Will they not bothfall into a pit ?40"15A jpupil is not above his teacher ; but everyone, after he has been fullytrained, will kbe like his teacher.41"Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother'seye, but do not notice the log that is in your owneye ?42"Or howcan you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye ? You hypocrite, firsttake the log out of your own eye, and then you will seeclearly to take out the speck that is in your brother'seye.43"16For there is nogoodtree which producesbadfruit, nor, lon the otherhand, a badtree which producesgoodfruit.44"17For eachtree is known by its ownfruit. For men do not gatherfigs from thorns, nor do they pickgrapes from a briarbush.45"18The goodman out of the goodmtreasure of his heartbringsforthwhat is good ; and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringsforthwhat is evil ; 19for his mouthspeaks from nthat whichfills his heart.

46"20Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not dowhat I say ?47"21Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and oacts on them, I will show you whom he is like :48he is like a manbuilding a house, whopdugdeep and laid a foundation on the rock ; and when a floodoccurred, the qtorrentburstagainst that house and could not shake it, because it had been wellbuilt.49"But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the groundwithout any foundation ; and the rtorrentburstagainst it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great."
