The chiefpriests began to accuse Him aharshly.
4ThenPilatequestioned Him again, saying, "Do You not answer? Seehowmanycharges they bringagainst You!"
But Jesus1madenofurtheranswer; soPilate was amazed.
62Now at the feast he used to release for them any oneprisonerwhom they requested.
The man namedBarabbas had beenimprisoned with the insurrectionistswho had committedmurder in the insurrection.
The crowdwent up and beganasking him to do as he had been accustomed to do for them.
9Pilateanswered them, saying, "Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?"
For he was aware that the chiefpriests had handed Him over because of envy.
But the chiefpriestsstirred up the crowd3to ask him to releaseBarabbas for them instead.
12Answeringagain, Pilatesaid to them, "Thenwhat shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?"
They shoutedbback, "Crucify Him!"
