So Moses said, "I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up."
"Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the LORD , and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
"When Pharaoh does not listen to you, then I will lay My hand on Egypt and bring out My hosts, My people the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments.
'Moreover, there shall be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been before and such as shall never be again.
Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead.
When Israel saw the great power which the LORD had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD , and they believed in the LORD and in His servant Moses.
"Terror and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone; Until Your people pass over, O LORD , Until the people pass over whom You have purchased.
"Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people."
"Let them judge the people at all times; and let it be that every major dispute they will bring to you, but every minor dispute they themselves will judge. So it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you.
"Now then let Me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation."
Then Moses entreated the LORD his God, and said, "O LORD , why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
Then Moses said to Aaron, "What did this people do to you, that you have brought such great sin upon them?"
On the next day Moses said to the people, "You yourselves have committed a great sin; and now I am going up to the LORD , perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."
Then Moses returned to the LORD , and said, "Alas, this people has committed a great sin, and they have made a god of gold for themselves.
