A wild donkey accustomed to the wilderness, That sniffs the wind in her passion . In the time of her heat who can turn her away? All who seek her will not become weary; In her month they will find her.
In that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, "A scorching wind from the bare heights in the wilderness in the direction of the daughter of My people -not to winnow and not to cleanse,
a wind too strong for this -will come at My command; now I will also pronounce judgments against them.
"The prophets are as wind, And the word is not in them. Thus it will be done to them!"
When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses.
Every man is stupid, devoid of knowledge; Every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols; For his molten images are deceitful, And there is no breath in them.
"Therefore I will scatter them like drifting straw To the desert wind.
"The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights; They pant for air like jackals, Their eyes fail For there is no vegetation.
'Like an east wind I will scatter them Before the enemy; I will show them My back and not My face In the day of their calamity.' "
"The wind will sweep away all your shepherds, And your lovers will go into captivity; Then you will surely be ashamed and humiliated Because of all your wickedness.
"Their camels will become plunder, And their many cattle for booty, And I will scatter to all the winds those who cut the corners of their hair; And I will bring their disaster from every side," declares the LORD .
'I will bring upon Elam the four winds From the four ends of heaven, And will scatter them to all these winds; And there will be no nation To which the outcasts of Elam will not go.
