Proverbs 2:12-22 (New American Standard)

To 1deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks 2perverse things ;
13
From those who 3leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the 4ways of darkness ;
14
Who 5delight in doing evil And rejoice in the perversity of evil ;
15
Whose paths are 6crooked, And who are devious in their ways ;
16
To 7deliver you from the strange woman, From the a8adulteress who flatters with her words ;
17
That leaves the 9companion of her youth And forgets the 10covenant of her God ;
18
For 11her house bsinks down to death And her tracks lead to the cdead ;
19
None 12who go to her return again, Nor do they reach the 13paths of life.
20
So you will 14walk in the way of good men And keep to the 15paths of the righteous.
21
For 16the upright will dlive in the land And 17the blameless will remain in it;
22
But 18the wicked will be cut off from the land And 19the treacherous will be 20uprooted from it.
