Longing for the Temple Worship.

1 How lovely are Your ¹dwelling places, O LORD of hosts ! 2 My ²soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD ; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the ³living God. 3 The bird also has found a house, And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even Your ⁴altars, O LORD of hosts, ⁵My King and my God. 4 How ⁶blessed are those who dwell in Your house ! They are ⁷ever praising You. ^aSelah. 5 How blessed is the man whose ⁸strength is in You, In ^bwhose heart are the ⁹highways to Zion! 6 Passing through the valley of ^cBaca they make it a ^dspring ; The ¹⁰early rain also covers it with blessings. 7 They ¹¹go from strength to strength, ^eEvery one of them ¹²appears before God in Zion. 8 O ¹³LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer ; Give ear, O ¹⁴God of Jacob ! Selah.
