1Then there was given me a a1measuringrodlike a staff ; band 2someone said, "Get up and measure the ctemple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it.

"dLeave out the 3court which is outside the etemple and do not measure it, for 4it has been given to the nations ; and they will 5treadunderfoot6the holycity for 7forty-twomonths.

"And I will grant authority to my two8witnesses, and they will prophesy for 9twelvehundred and sixtydays, clothed in 10sackcloth."
4These are the 11twoolivetrees and the twolampstands that standbefore the Lord of the earth.

And ifanyonewants to harm them, 12fireflows out of their mouth and devours their enemies ; soifanyonewants to harm them, 13he must be killed in thisway.
6Thesehave the power to 14shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during 15the days of their prophesying ; and they havepowerover the waters to 16turn them into blood, and 17to strike the earth with everyplague, as often as they desire.
7When they have finished their testimony, 18the beast that comes up out of the 19abyss will 20makewar with them, and overcome them and kill them.

And their deadbodies will lie in the street of the 21greatcitywhichfmystically is called22Sodom and 23Egypt, wherealso their Lord was crucified.

Those from 24the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their deadgbodies for three and a halfdays, and h25will not permit their deadbodies to be laid in a tomb.

And 26those who dwell on the earth will rejoiceover them and celebrate ; and they will 27sendgifts to oneanother, becausethesetwoprophetstormented28those who dwell on the earth.

But after the three and a halfdays, 29the breath of life from Godcame into them, and they stood on their feet ; and greatfearfell upon those who were watching them.

And they heard a loudvoice from heavensaying to them, "30Come up here." Then they 31went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemieswatched them.

And in that hour there was a great32earthquake, and a tenth of the cityfell ; iseventhousandpeople were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and 33gaveglory to the 34God of heaven.

The second35woe is past ; behold, the thirdwoe is comingquickly.
15Then the 36seventhangelsounded; and there were 37loudvoices in heaven, saying, "38 The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of 39 His jChrist; and 40 He will reignforever and ever."

And the twenty-fourelders, who 41sit on their thronesbeforeGod, 42fell on their faces and worshipedGod,
17saying, "We give You thanks, 43O LordGod, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your greatpower and have begun to 44reign.
18
"And 45the nations were enraged, and 46Your wrathcame, and 47the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to kreward Your 48bond-servants the prophets and the lsaints and those who fear Your name, 49the small and the great, and to destroythose who destroy the earth."

And 50the mtemple of God which is in heaven was opened ; and 51the ark of His covenantappeared in His ntemple, and there were flashes of 52lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a 53greatohailstorm.
