"aLeave out the 1court which is outside the btemple and do not measure it, for 2it has been given to the nations; and they will 3treadunderfoot4the holycity for 5forty-twomonths.
"And I will grant authority to my two6witnesses, and they will prophesy for 7twelvehundred and sixtydays, clothed in 8sackcloth."
4These are the 9twoolivetrees and the twolampstands that standbefore the Lord of the earth.
And ifanyonewants to harm them, 10fireflows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; soifanyonewants to harm them, 11he must be killed in thisway.
6Thesehave the power to 12shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during 13the days of their prophesying; and they havepowerover the waters to 14turn them into blood, and 15to strike the earth with everyplague, as often as they desire.
7When they have finished their testimony, 16the beast that comes up out of the 17abyss will 18makewar with them, and overcome them and kill them.
And their deadbodies will lie in the street of the 19greatcitywhichcmystically is called20Sodom and 21Egypt, wherealso their Lord was crucified.
Those from 22the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their deaddbodies for three and a halfdays, and e23will not permit their deadbodies to be laid in a tomb.
And 24those who dwell on the earth will rejoiceover them and celebrate; and they will 25sendgifts to oneanother, becausethesetwoprophetstormented26those who dwell on the earth.
But after the three and a halfdays, 27the breath of life from Godcame into them, and they stood on their feet; and greatfearfell upon those who were watching them.
And they heard a loudvoice from heavensaying to them, "28Come up here." Then they 29went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemieswatched them.
