But what does it say ? "1THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart "-that is, the word of faithwhich we are preaching,
9athat 2if you confess with your mouthJesus as Lord, and 3believe in your heart that 4Godraised Him from the dead, you will be saved ;
10
for with the heart a person believes, bresulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, cresulting in salvation.
11
For the Scripturesays, "5WHOEVERBELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE dDISAPPOINTED."
12
For 6there is nodistinction between Jew and Greek ; for the same Lord is 7Lord of 8all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
13
for "9WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
14Howthen will they call on Him in whom they have not believed ? How will they believe in Him 10whom they have not heard ? And how will they hearwithout11a preacher ?
15How will they preachunless they are sent ? Just as it is written, "12HOWBEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO e13BRINGGOODNEWS OF GOODTHINGS !"
16However, they 14did not allheed the fgoodnews ; for Isaiahsays, "15LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT ?"
17Sofaith comes from 16hearing, and hearing by 17the wordgof Christ.
