14
For we know that the Law is 1spiritual, but I am2of flesh, 3solda4into bondage to sin.
15
For what I am doing, 5I do not understand ; for I am not practicing6what I would like to do, but I am doing the verything I hate.
16
But if I do the verything I do not want to do, I agree with 7the Law, confessing that the Law is good.
17Sonow, 8nolonger am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
18
For I know that nothinggooddwells in me, that is, in my 9flesh ; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
19
For 10the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the veryevil that I do not want.
20
But if I am doing the verything I do not want, 11I am nolonger the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
21
I findthen12the bprinciple that evil is present in me, the one who wants to dogood.
22
For I joyfullyconcur with the law of Godcin 13the innerman,
23
but I see14a differentlaw in dthe members of my body, wagingwaragainst the 15law of my mind and making me a prisonereof 16the law of sin which is in my members.
24Wretchedman that I am! Who will set me free from f17the body of this18death ?
2519Thanks be to GodthroughJesusChrist our Lord ! Sothen, on the onehand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh20the law of sin.
