And He did so to makeknown1the riches of His glory upon 2vessels of mercy, which He 3preparedbeforehand for glory,
even us, whom He also4called, 5not from amongJewsonly, but also from amongGentiles.
As He saysalso in Hosea, "6I WILL CALLTHOSE WHO WERE NOT MY PEOPLE, 'MY PEOPLE,' AND HER WHO WAS NOT BELOVED, 'BELOVED.' "
"7AND IT SHALL BE THAT IN THE PLACEWHERE IT WAS SAID TO THEM, 'YOU ARE NOT MY PEOPLE,' THERE THEY SHALL BE CALLEDSONS OF 8THE LIVINGGOD."
27Isaiahcries out concerningIsrael, "9THOUGH THE NUMBER OF THE SONS OF ISRAEL BE 10LIKE THE SAND OF THE SEA, IT IS 11THE REMNANT THAT WILL BE SAVED;
2812FOR THE LORD WILL EXECUTE HIS WORD ON THE EARTH, aTHOROUGHLY AND bQUICKLY."
And just as Isaiahforetold, "13UNLESS14THE LORD OF cSABAOTH HAD LEFT TO US A dPOSTERITY, 15WE WOULD HAVE BECOMELIKESODOM, AND WOULD HAVE eRESEMBLEDGOMORRAH."
3016What shall we saythen? That Gentiles, who did not pursuerighteousness, attainedrighteousness, even17the righteousness which is fby faith;
but Israel, 18pursuing a law of righteousness, did not 19arrive at that law.
32Why ? Because they did not pursue it gby faith, but as though it were hby works. They stumbledover20the stumblingstone,
33just as it is written, "21BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION22A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, 23AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM 24WILL NOT BE iDISAPPOINTED."
