Psalms 56:11 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 56:11

In God have I put my trust (See Gill on Psalms 56:4);

I will not be afraid what man can do unto me;
the same with flesh in ( Psalms 56:4 ) , and is opposed to God, in whom he trusted; and it suggests that he was not, and would not, be afraid of the greatest of men, as well as of the meanest; (See Gill on Psalms 56:4); Arama distinguishes between "flesh" and "man"; the former, he says, means the Philistines, and the latter Saul and his army.

Psalms 56:11 In-Context

9 My enemies will turn back when I call out to you for help. Then I will know that God is on my side.
10 I trust in God. I praise his word. I trust in the Lord. I praise his word.
11 I trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can mere men do to me?
12 God, I have made promises to you. I will bring my thank offerings to you.
13 You have saved me from death. You have kept me from tripping and falling. Now I can live with you in the light that leads to life.
