Luke 13:1-9

Why do bad things happen to good people? This is a question many people ask, particularly when we see tragedies occurring around us. In the ancient world, the general thinking was that if you were good, God would bless you in material ways for being good. So if something bad happened to you, the community would think that you had done something bad to deserve it. When Jesus was questioned about such things—whose sin caused which disasters—His response was countercultural and personal.  In this message, Stuart helps us gain new insight on the parable of the unfruitful fig tree and shows us how to respond when calamity strikes.

How are things going?  Perhaps like the woman we’ll meet today on a Daily Walk you’re suffering a great deal and in need of a touch from Jesus?  The good news is, the Lord seeks to help and minister to those in that condition.  Today pastor John Randall has an eye on Luke thirteen.  We’ll be addressing such questions as, why does God allow suffering into our lives?  And what is the key to be free and delivered?  

Today on a Daily Walk we learn a valuable lesson- the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike!  In Luke thirteen there’s a woman who has bad things happen to her!  Yes even the godly will suffer in this world and maybe that’s exactly what you need to hear today!  Be encouraged as you study along with us.  

Death was never part of God’s plan. But, when suffering and death comes, we need to pause and reconsider things. Are we ready? Jesus is seen more clearly from the trenches of life, not from the tranquility of ease and comfort.
