Jeremiah 51:26

26 No stone shall be taken from you for a corner and no stone for a foundation, but you shall be a perpetual waste, says the Lord.

Jeremiah 51:26 Meaning and Commentary

Jeremiah 51:26

And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a
stone for foundations
Signifying that it should be so utterly consumed by fire, that there should not be a stone left fit to be put into any new building, especially to be a corner or a foundation stone. The Targum understands it figuratively,

``and they shall not take of thee a king for a kingdom, and a ruler for government:''
but thou shall be desolate for ever, saith the Lord;
see ( Jeremiah 50:39 Jeremiah 50:40 ) .

27 Raise a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations; prepare the nations for war against her, summon against her the kingdoms, Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; appoint a marshal against her, bring up horses like bristling locusts.
28 Prepare the nations for war against her, the kings of the Medes, with their governors and deputies, and every land under their dominion.
