8 Ibzán, juez de Israel
Después de la muerte de Jefté, Ibzán, de Belén, fue juez de Israel.

Judges 12:8

And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.
] There were two Bethlehems, one in the tribe of Zebulun, ( Joshua 19:15 ) of which some think this man was; and another in the tribe of Judah, the city of Jesse and David, and of the Messiah; and Josephus says ^F24, Ibzan was of the tribe of Judah, of the city of Bethlehem; and because Boaz was of the same place, and lived in the times of the judges, the Jewish Rabbins ^F25 are of opinion that he is the same with Ibzan; so Jarchi and Ben Gersom.

6 ellos le pedían que pronunciara la palabra shibolet. Si era de Efraín, diría sibolet, porque a la gente de Efraín le cuesta pronunciar bien esa palabra. Entonces se lo llevaban y lo mataban en los vados del Jordán. En total mataron a cuarenta y dos mil de la tribu de Efraín en esos días.

7 Jefté fue juez de Israel durante seis años. Cuando murió, lo enterraron en una de las ciudades de Galaad.

Después de la muerte de Jefté, Ibzán, de Belén, fue juez de Israel.

9 Tuvo treinta hijos y treinta hijas. Envió a sus hijas a casarse con hombres que no pertenecían a su clan, y trajo treinta mujeres jóvenes que tampoco eran de su clan para que se casaran con sus hijos. Ibzán fue juez de Israel durante siete años.

10 Cuando murió, lo enterraron en Belén.
