1 Chronicles 26:10

Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons
Who was a fellow porter of Obededom's at the ark, ( 1 Chronicles 16:38 ) .

Simri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father
made him the chief);
the firstborn being unfit for service, either through want of an intellectual capacity, or of strength of body, or through some defect or another; according to the Syriac version, he was dead; so some understand the words, he, the father, had no firstborn remaining or living.

8 Todos estos eran descendientes de Obed Edom. Tanto ellos como sus hijos y hermanos eran hombres muy valientes y fuertes para el trabajo. En total, los descendientes de Obed Edom fueron sesenta y dos.

9 Los hijos y hermanos de Meselemías fueron dieciocho, todos ellos hombres muy valientes.

10 Los hijos de Josá, descendiente de Merari, fueron Simri, el jefe (que en verdad no había sido el primero, pero su padre lo puso por jefe);

11 el segundo fue Jilquías; el tercero, Tebalías; y el cuarto, Zacarías. En total, los hijos y hermanos de Josá fueron trece.

12 Así fue como se organizó a los porteros, tanto a los jefes como a sus hermanos, para que sirvieran en el templo del SEÑOR.
