Now, in regard to the collection being made for God's people: you are to do the same as I directed the congregations in Galatia to do. 1 Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do.
Every week, on Motza'ei-Shabbat, each of you should set some money aside, according to his resources, and save it up; so that when I come I won't have to do fundraising. 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
And when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the people you have approved, and I will send them to carry your gift to Yerushalayim. 3 Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem.
If it seems appropriate that I go too, they will go along with me. 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me.
I will visit you after I have gone through Macedonia, for I am intending to pass through Macedonia, 5 After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you--for I will be going through Macedonia.
and I may stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me continue my travels wherever I may go. 6 Perhaps I will stay with you awhile, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go.
For I don't want to see you now, when I am only passing through; because I am hoping to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows it. 7 I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
But I will remain in Ephesus until Shavu'ot, 8 But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost,
because a great and important door has opened for my work, and there are many people opposing me. 9 because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.
If Timothy comes, see that he has nothing to be afraid of while he is with you; for he is doing the Lord's work, just as I am. 10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am.
So let no one treat him with disrespect. Help him on his way in peace, so that he will return to me, for the brothers and I are expecting him. 11 No one, then, should refuse to accept him. Send him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him along with the brothers.
As for brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to go and visit you along with the other brothers; and although it was not at all his desire to come at this time, he will come when he has the opportunity. 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity.
Stay alert, stand firm in the faith, behave like a mentsh, grow strong. 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
Let everything you do be done in love. 14 Do everything in love.
Now, brothers, you know that the household of Stephanas were the first people in Achaia to put their trust in the Messiah, and they have devoted themselves to serving God's people. 15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. I urge you, brothers,
I urge you to submit yourselves to people like these and to everyone who works and toils with them. 16 to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it.
I am glad that Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus are here, because they have helped make up for your not being here. 17 I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you.
They have refreshed my spirit, just as they have yours. I want you to show appreciation for people like these. 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition.
The congregations in the province of Asia send greetings to you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you in union with the Lord, as does the congregation that meets in their house. 19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.
All the brothers send you their greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. 20 All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
Now, I Sha'ul, greet you in my own handwriting. 21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.
If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse on him! Marana, ta! [Our Lord, come!] 22 If anyone does not love the Lord --a curse be on him. Come, O Lord !
May the grace of the Lord Yeshua be with you. 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love is with you all, in union with the Messiah Yeshua. 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
