Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Goyim, that one has his father's wife. 1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife.
You are puffed up, and didn't rather mourn, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?
For I most assuredly, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already, as though I were present, judged him who has done this thing. 3 Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.
In the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, you being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, 4 When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,
are to deliver such a one to Hasatan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Yeshua. 5 hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.
Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump? 6 Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?
Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Messiah, our Pesach, has been sacrificed in our place. 7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the matzah of sincerity and truth. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.
I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners; 9 I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--
yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you would have to leave the world. 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
But as it is, I wrote to you not to keep company, if any man who is named a brother is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Don't even eat with such a person. 11 But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
For what have I to do with also judging those who are outside? Don't you judge those who are within? 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
But those who are outside, God judges. "Put away the wicked man from among yourselves." 13 God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."
