Young's Literal Translation (YLT) New International Version (NIV)
Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations -- as that one hath the wife of the father! -- 1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife.
and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work, 2 And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?
for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing: 3 Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ -- ye being gathered together, also my spirit -- with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,
to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 5 hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.
Not good [is] your glorying; have ye not known that a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven? 6 Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?
cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed -- Christ, 7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.
I did write to you in the epistle, not to keep company with whoremongers -- 9 I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--
and not certainly with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing ye ought then to go forth out of the world -- 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
and now, I did write to you not to keep company with [him], if any one, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- with such a one not even to eat together; 11 But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge? 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
and those without God doth judge; and put ye away the evil from among yourselves. 13 God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."
