Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, 1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
For I am the least of the apostles, unfit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
