pray constantly, 17 pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit, 19 Do not put out the Spirit's fire;
do not despise prophesying, 20 do not treat prophecies with contempt.
but test everything; hold fast what is good, 21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.
abstain from every form of evil. 22 Avoid every kind of evil.
May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. 24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
Brethren, pray for us. 25 Brothers, pray for us.
Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss. 26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
I adjure you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the brethren. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
