Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
The elder, to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not I only, but also all those who know the truth; 1 The elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth--
for the truth's sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever: 2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:
Grace, mercy, and shalom will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.
I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father. 4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new mitzvah, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
This is love, that we should walk according to his mitzvot. This is the mitzvah, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it. 6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don't confess that Yeshua the Messiah came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Anti-messiah. 7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
Watch yourselves, that we don't lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward. 8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
Whoever transgresses and doesn't remain in the teaching of Messiah, doesn't have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son. 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
If anyone comes to you, and doesn't bring this teaching, don't receive him into your house, and don't welcome him, 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.
for he who welcomes him participates in his evil works. 11 Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.
Having many things to write to you, I don't want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full. 12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amein. 13 The children of your chosen sister send their greetings.
