Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
Sha'ul, Sila, and Timothy, To the assembly of the Thessalonians in God, our Father, and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah: 1 Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and shalom from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds; 3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.
so that we ourselves boast about you in the assemblies of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you endure. 4 Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
This is an obvious sign of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. 5 All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you, 6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you
and to give relief to you that are afflicted with us, when the Lord Yeshua is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
giving vengeance to those who don't know God, and to those who don't obey the Good News of our Lord Yeshua, 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power
when he comes to be glorified in his holy ones, and to be admired among all those who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day. 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith, with power; 11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.
that the name of our Lord Yeshua may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
