1 This is the family tree of the human race: When God created the human race, he made it godlike, with a nature akin to God. 1 This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
2 He created both male and female and blessed them, the whole human race. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. "
3 When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son who was just like him, his very spirit and image, and named him Seth. 3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
4 After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, having more sons and daughters. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
5 Adam lived a total of 930 years. And he died. 5 Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
6 When Seth was 105 years old, he had Enosh. 6 When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.
7 After Seth had Enosh, he lived another 807 years, having more sons and daughters. 7 And after he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
8 Seth lived a total of 912 years. And he died. 8 Altogether, Seth lived 912 years, and then he died.
9 When Enosh was ninety years old, he had Kenan. 9 When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
10 After he had Kenan, he lived another 815 years, having more sons and daughters. 10 And after he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
11 Enosh lived a total of 905 years. And he died. 11 Altogether, Enosh lived 905 years, and then he died.
12 When Kenan was seventy years old, he had Mahalalel. 12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.
13 After he had Mahalalel, he lived another 840 years, having more sons and daughters. 13 And after he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
14 Kenan lived a total of 910 years. And he died. 14 Altogether, Kenan lived 910 years, and then he died.
15 When Mahalalel was sixty-five years old, he had Jared. 15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
16 After he had Jared, he lived another 830 years, having more sons and daughters. 16 And after he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
17 Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years. And he died. 17 Altogether, Mahalalel lived 895 years, and then he died.
18 When Jared was 162 years old, he had Enoch. 18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.
19 After he had Enoch, he lived another 800 years, having more sons and daughters. 19 And after he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
20 Jared lived a total of 962 years. And he died. 20 Altogether, Jared lived 962 years, and then he died.
21 When Enoch was sixty-five years old, he had Methuselah. 21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
22 Enoch walked steadily with God. After he had Methuselah, he lived another 300 years, having more sons and daughters. 22 And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
23 Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years.
24 Enoch walked steadily with God. And then one day he was simply gone: God took him. 24 Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
25 When Methuselah was 187 years old, he had Lamech. 25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.
26 After he had Lamech, he lived another 782 years. 26 And after he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
27 Methuselah lived a total of 969 years. And he died. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.
28 When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son. 28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.
29 He named him Noah, saying, "This one will give us a break from the hard work of farming the ground that God cursed." 29 He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed."
30 After Lamech had Noah, he lived another 595 years, having more sons and daughters. 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
31 Lamech lived a total of 777 years. And he died. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died.
32 When Noah was 500 years old, he had Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 32 After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
