Revised Standard Version (RSV) New International Version (NIV)
For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. 5 It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
It has been testified somewhere, "What is man that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man, that thou carest for him? 6 But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
Thou didst make him for a little while lower than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honor, 7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor
putting everything in subjection under his feet." Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. 8 and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
But we see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
