English Standard Version (ESV) New International Version (NIV)
And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 43 Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, "The one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard." 44 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard."
And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, "Rabbi!" And he kissed him. 45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.
And they laid hands on him and seized him. 46 The men seized Jesus and arrested him.
But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. 47 Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
And Jesus said to them, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? 48 "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled." 49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."
And they all left him and fled. 50 Then everyone deserted him and fled.
