The Message (MSG) New International Version (NIV)
God claims Earth and everything in it, God claims World and all who live on it. 1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
He built it on Ocean foundations, laid it out on River girders. 2 for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
Who can climb Mount God? Who can scale the holy north-face? 3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
Only the clean-handed, only the pure-hearted; Men who won't cheat, women who won't seduce. 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
God is at their side; with God's help they make it. 5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.
This, Jacob, is what happens to God-seekers, God-questers. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. "Selah"
Wake up, you sleepyhead city! Wake up, you sleepyhead people! King-Glory is ready to enter. 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King-Glory? God, armed and battle-ready. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Wake up, you sleepyhead city! Wake up, you sleepyhead people! King-Glory is ready to enter. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King-Glory? God of the angel armies: he is King-Glory. 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. "Selah"
