Third Millennium Bible (TMB) New International Version (NIV)
"How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! The joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a skillful workman. 1 How beautiful your sandaled feet, O prince's daughter! Your graceful legs are like jewels, the work of a craftsman's hands.
Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor; thy belly is like a heap of wheat set about with lilies. 2 Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies.
Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins; 3 Your breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle.
thy neck is as a tower of ivory. Thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon by the gate of Bathrabbim; thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus. 4 Your neck is like an ivory tower. Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim. Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon looking toward Damascus.
Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in its galleries. 5 Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel. Your hair is like royal tapestry; the king is held captive by its tresses.
How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights! 6 How beautiful you are and how pleasing, O love, with your delights!
This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. 7 Your stature is like that of the palm, and your breasts like clusters of fruit.
I said, `I will go up to the palm tree; I will take hold of the boughs thereof.' Now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples. 8 I said, "I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruit." May your breasts be like the clusters of the vine, the fragrance of your breath like apples,
And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak." 9 and your mouth like the best wine. May the wine go straight to my lover, flowing gently over lips and teeth.
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. 10 I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me.
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. 11 Come, my lover, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages.
Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth; there will I give thee my loves. 12 Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom-- there I will give you my love.
The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved." 13 The mandrakes send out their fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you, my lover.
