Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by God's will, to the saints and faithful in Christ Jesus who are at Ephesus. 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ; 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
according as he has chosen us in him before [the] world's foundation, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love; 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
having marked us out beforehand for adoption through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--
to [the] praise of [the] glory of his grace, wherein he has taken us into favour in the Beloved: 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of offences, according to the riches of his grace; 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace
which he has caused to abound towards us in all wisdom and intelligence, 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself 9 And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
for [the] administration of the fulness of times; to head up all things in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth; in him, 10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
in whom we have also obtained an inheritance, being marked out beforehand according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his own will, 11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
that we should be to [the] praise of his glory who have pre-trusted in the Christ: 12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
in whom *ye* also [have trusted], having heard the word of the truth, the glad tidings of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ye have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
who is [the] earnest of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession to [the] praise of his glory. 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
Wherefore *I* also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which [is] in you, and the love which [ye have] towards all the saints, 15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention [of you] at my prayers, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you [the] spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of him, 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
being enlightened in the eyes of your heart, so that ye should know what is the hope of his calling, [and] what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and what the surpassing greatness of his power towards us who believe, according to the working of the might of his strength, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
[in] which he wrought in the Christ [in] raising him from among [the] dead, and he set him down at his right hand in the heavenlies, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
above every principality, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name named, not only in this age, but also in that to come; 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
and has put all things under his feet, and gave him [to be] head over all things to the assembly, 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all in all: 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
