Third Millennium Bible (TMB) New International Version (NIV)
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor. 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let them not once be named among you, as becometh saints; 3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not befitting, but rather giving of thanks. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
For this ye know: that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no man deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
