Revised Standard Version (RSV) New International Version (NIV)
rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men, 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men,
knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. 8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
