King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake , saying , I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously : the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. 1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: "I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea.
The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation ; my father's God, and I will exalt him. 2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. 3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.
Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red Sea.
The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 5 The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone.
Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy . 6 "Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy.
And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. 7 In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.
And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together , the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. 8 By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.
The enemy said , I will pursue , I will overtake , I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 9 "The enemy boasted, 'I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.'
Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. 10 But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 11 "Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you--majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. 12 You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them.
Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed : thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation. 13 "In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
The people shall hear , and be afraid : sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. 14 The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.
Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed ; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away . 15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away;
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over , O LORD, till the people pass over , which thou hast purchased . 16 terror and dread will fall upon them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone-- until your people pass by, O LORD, until the people you bought pass by.
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in , in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established . 17 You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance-- the place, O LORD, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, your hands established.
The LORD shall reign for ever and ever. 18 The LORD will reign for ever and ever."

And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously ; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. 21 Miriam sang to them: "Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea."
