| The Webster Bible (WBT) | New International Version (NIV) |
| 1 And thou shalt make an altar [of] shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and its hight [shall be] three cubits. | 1 "Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide. |
| 2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: its horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass. | 2 Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece, and overlay the altar with bronze. |
| 3 And thou shalt make its pans to receive its ashes, and its shovels, and its basins, and its flesh-hooks, and its fire-pans: all its vessels thou shalt make [of] brass. | 3 Make all its utensils of bronze--its pots to remove the ashes, and its shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks and firepans. |
| 4 And thou shalt make for it a grate of net-work of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brazen rings in its four corners. | 4 Make a grating for it, a bronze network, and make a bronze ring at each of the four corners of the network. |
| 5 And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar. | 5 Put it under the ledge of the altar so that it is halfway up the altar. |
| 6 And thou shalt make staffs for the altar, staffs [of] shittim wood, and overlay them with brass. | 6 Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and overlay them with bronze. |
| 7 And the staffs shall be put into the rings, and the staffs shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it. | 7 The poles are to be inserted into the rings so they will be on two sides of the altar when it is carried. |
| 8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shown thee on the mount, so shall they make [it]. | 8 Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain. |
