Revised Standard Version w/ Apocrypha (RSVA) New International Version (NIV)
On the morrow Moses said to the people, "You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin." 30 The next day Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."
So Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Alas, this people have sinned a great sin; they have made for themselves gods of gold. 31 So Moses went back to the LORD and said, "Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold.
But now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written." 32 But now, please forgive their sin--but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written."
But the LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. 33 The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book.
But now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you; behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them." 34 Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin."
And the LORD sent a plague upon the people, because they made the calf which Aaron made. 35 And the LORD struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made.
