Good News Translation (GNT) New International Version (NIV)
My friends, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right; but you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too. 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
Help carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
If you think you are something when you really are nothing, you are only deceiving yourself. 3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
You should each judge your own conduct. If it is good, then you can be proud of what you yourself have done, without having to compare it with what someone else has done. 4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else,
For each of you have to carry your own load. 5 for each one should carry his own load.
If you are being taught the Christian message, you should share all the good things you have with your teacher. 6 Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. You will reap exactly what you plant. 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
If you plant in the field of your natural desires, from it you will gather the harvest of death; if you plant in the field of the Spirit, from the Spirit you will gather the harvest of eternal life. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
See what big letters I make as I write to you now with my own hand! 11 See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!
The people who are trying to force you to be circumcised are the ones who want to show off and boast about external matters. They do it, however, only so that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 12 Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.
Even those who practice circumcision do not obey the Law; they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast that you submitted to this physical ceremony. 13 Not even those who are circumcised obey the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your flesh.
As for me, however, I will boast only about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; for by means of his cross the world is dead to me, and I am dead to the world. 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
It does not matter at all whether or not one is circumcised; what does matter is being a new creature. 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.
As for those who follow this rule in their lives, may peace and mercy be with them - with them and with all of God's people! 16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God.
To conclude: let no one give me any more trouble, because the scars I have on my body show that I am the slave of Jesus. 17 Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, my friends. Amen. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
