And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.
And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 2 I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers."
And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations. 4 "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee. 5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
