New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
So let us go out to him outside the camp and bear the disgrace he bore. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.
For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name. 15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name.
Don't forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. 17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do. 18 Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
I especially need your prayers right now so that I can come back to you soon. 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.
And now, may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, all that is pleasing to him. Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep by an everlasting covenant, signed with his blood. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen. 20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
* [No text] 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, please listen carefully to what I have said in this brief letter. 22 Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter.
I want you to know that our brother Timothy is now out of jail. If he comes here soon, I will bring him with me to see you. 23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
